Tekanihsnonhsané:kens - I whistle by putting two fingers together and blowing through them
Wakáhsioks - I blister on the palms

My Aunt is 90 years young and only recently after I turned 43, did she tell me something after she recovered from a hospital trip.

She said, you have to learn our language to keep it safe. She started to talk Mohawk and told me her Grandmother shared with her at age 5, just what to say in Mowhawk.
85 years ago in Ontario, Viola Bice was told by Grandma Hoy how to speak Mohawk language.
It was a surprise to me, and an honour to hear her speak.

Recently i found out my Grandmother's, Father's Grandma was full blooded Mohawk & she has already passed on so i'm unable to get anymore information. I have been searching all over the internet for the correct pronunciation of Kayaderosseras which is the name of the creek and mountain range I live at. I have found various spellings like Kay-ad-ros-se-ra and Kayderross. Even our local road signs vary the spelling. I've read the meaning is "country of the crooked stream".
